School's out but the learning is just beginning!

Would you like Kids Nutrition Kitchen to come to your school to conduct cooking classes before or after the school day? These enrichment programs are available to schools by request for grades K through 6. Class schedules are flexible and based upon what works best for each school. Young chefs will chop, stir, slice, mix and cook their way to exciting destinations on this thrill ride of discovery as they sample healthy and nutritious new dishes with familiar and exotic flavors. The group setting encourages young explorers to try new things as they work collaboratively with each other and on their own using all five senses to experience the joy of cooking.

Our cooking boot camp will get young chefs in shape to create an entire day's worth of delicious meals and snacks. This hands-on basic training will lay the foundation for healthy eating by educating and empowering students in kitchen safety, common cooking tasks and techniques, and gaining confidence and self-sufficiency in the kitchen. Graduates will be ready to go out and tackle any meal of the day.

Breakfast for Dinner

We’re turning the clock upside down in this series to show that it’s always the right time for the most important meal of the day. Participants will explore a variety of cooking methods as we put a new spin on a breakfast favorite with chocolate chip pancakes and combine breakfast and dinner to make breakfast fried rice. Does breakfast taste the same no matter what time of day it is? We’ll find out in these classes.

Farm to Table

Exploring locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients is what this class is all about. Participants will prepare tasty and nutritious recipes using farm-fresh produce in unique ways. Even the the most vegetable-resistant chefs in the group will get excited about zucchini pizzas with fresh tomato sauce, chocolate zucchini muffins, mini veggie frittatas and mini berry crumbles.
