Eat to Win

Healthy eating can make the difference between a body that functions well and one that does not. This is especially true for active children and young people who need the right kind of fuel to get the most from their growing bodies. From youngsters who run and play all day to student athletes, dancers and cheer enthusiasts, following the essential eating guidelines can help deliver the win. In each age-appropriate session, participants will have fun creating nutritious and delicious snacks and meals to help them go the distance and improve energy, strength, stamina and focus.

Breakfast for Dinner

We’re turning the clock upside down in this series to show that it’s always the right time for the most important meal of the day. Participants will explore a variety of cooking methods as we put a new spin on a breakfast favorite with chocolate chip pancakes and combine breakfast and dinner to make breakfast fried rice. Does breakfast taste the same no matter what time of day it is? We’ll find out in these classes.

Cooking Around the World

The flavors, scents and textures of exotic cuisine from around the world will have young chefs wanting to plan the next family vacation. Delicacies from Greece, Italy and Mexico are just some of the dishes that will tantalize the taste buds. Essential cooking skills like slicing, mixing, measuring and cooking with heat introduce STEM components in a way that’s easy to understand and fun to put into practice.

Souper Bowls

Here we go, young chefs, here we go. Participants will earn an MVP award as they stir up a new pot of nutritious and delicious soup each week. Traditional favorites like chicken noodle and tomato basil with grilled cheese sandwiches are part of the winning menu in this series of classes where team members will learn to chop, measure, cook with heat and experiment with new flavor combinations.

Oodles of Noodles

Some swirl them, others twirl them, and a few might slurp them, but almost everyone loves noodles. We’re stepping outside the pasta box in this class as we explore different shapes, textures and flavors and even make our own pasta from spiralized zucchini. Our menu includes bowtie pasta with broccoli, ramen veggie stir fry, and some tasty sauces that will entice young chefs to go beyond traditional buttered noodles.

Taco Tuesday

Tuesdays are a great day for tacos, but so are Mondays, Sundays and every day in between. This class will take participants on an exciting adventure south of the border as they learn to prepare ground turkey tacos, chicken quesadillas, pico de gallo and wash it all down with a cool, refreshing glass of melon agua fresca. “Yo quiero tacos!” will be the phrase of the day when this series is complete.

Pumpkin Palooza

Packed with fiber, antioxidants, and vitamins, PUMPKIN is the star ingredient in recipes that is sure to please even the pickiest palate! Pizza with Tomato-Pumpkin Sauce, Pumpkin Mac and Cheese, and Pumpkin Pie Smoothies are some of the hands-on creations that will showcase this superfood.

Game Day Snacks

Your crowd will go wild over this flavorful lineup of football favorites!  Kids will chop, sauté and bake all-star dishes such as Buffalo Chicken Dip, Mini Turkey Sliders, Chocolate-Cinnamon Popcorn, and other delicious snacks that are high in nutrition and big on flavor.
