Summer Camps

Add some fun to summer mornings.
Boring summer? No way! Our summer camp cooking classes make summer mornings memorable. Each session for ages 6+ runs Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon for a combined total of 8 hours. We cover it all in these classes where young chefs will work individually and as a team to create dishes with healthy ingredients. Essential kitchen safety and cooking skills such as proper knife handling using child-safe knives, cooking with heat, use of appliances, whisking, mixing and chopping are covered in an encouraging environment where participants can be proud of their culinary creations.
Artistic Foodie
We're going to eat our way around an art museum in the class. Young chefs will create culinary masterpieces that are inspired by famous works of art! We'll create an edible version of Monet's "Water Lilies" with blueberry muffins and blueberry smoothie bowls and put our own spin on Andy Warhol's "Tomato Soup Can" by creating tomato basil soup with grilled cheese croutons and restaurant style salsa with tortilla chips.
Farm to Table
Exploring locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients is what this class is all about. Participants will prepare tasty and nutritious recipes using farm-fresh produce in unique ways. Even the the most vegetable-resistant chefs in the group will get excited about zucchini pizzas with fresh tomato sauce, chocolate zucchini muffins, mini veggie frittatas and mini berry crumbles.
Kitchen Science
Request Schedule
Kids learn the science of cooking by seeing and tasting how ingredients work together to create tasty dishes. How does baking powder impact the fluffiness of a pancake? Why does heat change the texture of vegetables? We'll learn the answers to these and other kitchen science concepts as we prepare deliciously healthy recipes!
